In other words, how do use your power as an executive?
To drive immediate action or influence others to act?
Push statements into the organization or ask bold questions that challenge people to play at their best?
Front load your messages with information and details or outline clear consequences for actions and results?
Use your muscle to be liked or to be respected?
Build boundaries so people play it safe or open the gates and encourage people to be bold, and from time to time, fail?
Use your power to push people or to pull them towards something?
In the life of a leader, it is never as easy as “one or the other”, yet the degree that we use “one or the other” makes a significant difference in the expression of our leadership and the quality of our followership.
Be mindful with your muscle.
